We are a group of Christian believers who meet together for worship, Bible ministry and fellowship in the little village of Cregrina deep in rural Powys, mid Wales. The setting is a green valley surrounded by green hills, the beauty of which constantly reminds us of our Creator God and His handiwork. It is also a testimony to the local landowners and farmers who work hard in the local landscape which they clearly cherish. Cregrina is just a few miles from Builth Wells and also within easy reach of Llandrindod Wells.
The mission has been a Christian witness in the local area for over 100 years. Although numbers are small at present, the presence of the Lord Jesus is living and real for us, thanks to His great faithfulness. We each have a life story which brought us to share the same personal testimony that Paul had almost 2,000 years ago. With him we can say that Jesus is “the Son of God who loved me, and gave Himself for me”. Knowing Jesus as Saviour is the most precious thing in our lives, and we know that it can be the most precious thing in the lives of all who come to know and trust Him. Jesus Christ is fully worthy of our complete trust – “all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen…” We fail often when we make puny little promises. God never fails, keeping all His promises even when they truly are “exceedingly great and precious” ones!
At present we meet regularly just once a week at the chapel right by the lane through the village. The service is on Sunday afternoon at 2.30 pm. Speakers come from near and far, some travelling from the valleys of south Wales or from Herefordshire to serve the Lord and such a small group of His people. We give heartfelt thanks to all for their willingness to come and share messages from the living Word of God. There are occasional special gatherings at other times – notification will be given through the website and by other means locally.
Cregrina is far removed from the bustle of the great cities, yet the Lord is just as concerned for people in the quieter corners of His world. The tranquility is appreciated by most who live and visit the area, but this does not mean people are spared the various challenges and cares of life that are common to all mankind. We need the encouragement and assurance that we believe only Jesus can bring, and hope to share what Jesus means to us with the local community and with people further afield through the new website.
Whether you come and visit in person, or just make a “virtual visit” through the website, you can be assured of a warm welcome in the name of the Lord Jesus. Our prayer is “God bless you, every one”.
